Miracast

Miracast is a standard for wireless connections from sending devices to display receivers mainly using Wi-Fi Direct.

Implementations

  • GNOME Network Displays GTK application to cast your desktop to a remote display. Currently implemented is support for casting to Wi-Fi Display capable devices (a.k.a. Miracast).

Note: Despite having GNOME in the name, it works on any desktop environment. However, do note that it requires pipewire in order to function.

Wifi P2P Support

Detect whether your device support Miracast:

  • iw phy should display P2P-Client under the Supported interface modes section.
  • iw dev should display a P2P-device.
